The Liberty
This is our new 24 Hour Bait Shop. In 2005, we were serving well over 200 customers with supplies and support in the bait vending business. Although the business was profitable, we realized that there was potential for growth and that the limitations with the current bait vending machine was holding this business back. At the time, the only machine available was the LB-170 Bait Vendor.
Consequently, we began asking our customers if there was a new bait vending machine, what changes and additional features they would like to see in it. With their input, and a few of our own ideas, we set out to find a vending machine manufacturer who could fulfill our needs. There are many companies out there, but very few are like AMS; I cannot say enough good things about this company. They truly care about the products they build and the LB-170 just cannot compare to the AMS Liberty.
The LB-170 holds 150 cups; the Liberty holds 400 units. The LB-170 has only six selections; the Liberty can be configured to offer 35 to 40 selections. Key word here is 'configured.' The inside of the LB-170 cannot be changed, you must put so many cups in each selection and that is it. However, the Liberty can be totally reconfigured - the shelves can be raised and lowered to fit products of various heights, and the spirals can be changed in seconds to accept products of different thickness. Considering the seasonal trends of the fishing industry, these advantages are huge.
Another big step forward is the clear Lexan front on the Liberty, rather than the Lexan front with the fish scene on the LB-170. It is much more important to have the customers be able to see what they are buying. In addition, the LB-170 was limited to just selling live bait. However, the Liberty lets you offer bait, tackle, and camping & hunting items; even beverages with the optional beverage tray. After we replaced the LB170s on our routes with the new advanced Liberty, we noticed a substantial increase in our revenues.
